The Parkland to the East of the house together with the gardens were largely
planted by Miss Raphael between1939 and 1976. Her Great Nephew and Godson
Francis Grant and his wife Virginia began restoring and developing the garden,
which includes herbaceous and shrub borders and woodland garden in 1995. The
collection of trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs include many which are unusual
and interesting. A Garden Map which lists some 300 plants is available for sale.
As a memorial to Francis who died in
January 2003 Virginia has opened up
church copse as well as continuing with
the planned longterm development of
the garden and parkland.
